Chances are the reason you selected WordPress for you website is that you want to Blog on a certain topic which is great. If you are just using WordPress for creating pages you are really going to be missing out on what WordPress has to offer.
As you continue to evaluate your Theme you will want to look at how the Blog section is formatted and how it presents your Post. Some Themes are very dynamic and show you post in a very visual way and may even utilize a Slider to show your last few Blog entries.
Getting these features to function will take a little practice on how to format, size and upload the images and photos you will want to use in your Blog.
The content you Post to your Blog will be available on your website in a variety of ways so make sure to explore your Theme in as many ways as you can.
Other than the Blog view, WordPress will make your Post available in an Archive view, Category view, Tag view and in a Slider if that is one of the options available to you with the Theme you are considering.
Setting up each of these options will take you a little time plus what ever adjustments you want to make regarding formatting and layout.
Most Themes will come with sample Pages and Post to give you a starting point but beyond that you will have to experiment with the various options you have.
This can be really frustrating and as you will discover the Visual Editor in WordPress is very limiting. Most of the advanced layout options for Post require you to know how to code and CSS. To see the code view of your Post click the “Text” tab in the upper right corner of the Editor.
