Accessing the Comments Screen in WordPress
One of the native features of WordPress is the ability to allow comments on any of the Pages or Post you create.
Depending on what type of WordPress Website you are creating you may or may not want to allow visitors to leave comments on the articles you post to your blog. Sounds good right?
Sadly this is not really the case. Most of the comments you get will be spam and will just annoy you then motivate you.
One of the Plugins that comes with WordPress is Akismet which is suppose to help cut down the amount of spam so if you are going to allow comments you will want to take a closer look at this plugin.
To set your WordPress site up for comments you will want to go to the Discussion Settings Tab and go over all the options you find on that screen.
On the comments screen is where you will go to approve and moderate any comments that have been submitted to you. This is also where you go if wish to respond to any comment you have received.
The topic regarding comments is something you want to think about. If the subject matter on your website is such that comments would be helpful then feel free to try it and see what you get. Comments a never all positive and you have to take the good with the bad and sometimes comments lead to arguments.
Comments can also be distracting and if your website is a business then perhaps you should not open this door but the choice is yours.
Good Luck and happy blogging.
Now that you have logged in to your WordPress site and reviewed the Comments Screen what do you do next?
